On June 5, 2008 my father committed suicide.
It was shocking.
A nightmare.
Heartbreaking.
In the moments and days afterwards it seemed like that intense, horrible pain would never go away.
A little over two years later I can tell that it probably never will.
Some days are better than others, of course.
I can talk about him and not shed tears.
The pain becomes a little more dull.
The happy memories outshine the sad ones.
Today would have been his 59th birthday.
My sister and I wanted to do something to
mark this day,
honor him
and celebrate his life.

This is an amazing, selfless gesture that WILL touch the lives of people...kudos to you & your sister for starting this in memory of your father. I bet he's quite proud. ;)
