In our house
Saturdays = College Football
and
Sundays = NFL
{after church, of course}.
Saturdays
We're LSU fans but
{I've learned since I married C}
its not enough just to watch your own team's games.
Oh no, you have to watch the games of all the other teams in the division.
And all of the other Top 10 Teams.
What happens when these games overlap, you ask?
You watch one game on your tv
one game on your laptop
and follow the others on your iPad.
Honestly, it's a little bit ridiculous.
Sundays
Since we're playing Fantasy Football
Since we're playing Fantasy Football
{okay, I will admit to being a little over-the-top there.
I'm the only girl playing in this league and currently
I'm on top.
I've got to prove myself, you know.}
we have to monitor all the games
{again with the tv, laptop, iPad}.
For the record though, I am we are Titans fans.
So, needless to say, C spends we spend a lot of our weekend on the couch.
{Maybe I need to follow this post with a Healthy Living post.}
In my defense, though, this was my football food today:

and this was his:

Another of his favorite football foods is
Buffalo Chicken Dip.
I love introducing this dip to people.
It goes over really well
and it is really simple to make.
If you're going to a pot luck
and you enjoy accolades,
make this.
I am now required to make this at Thanksgiving
and everytime I see my brother-in-law.
Seriously.

All you need:
Ingredients
2 8-ounce packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup Frank's Red Hot sauce
1/2 cup ranch salad dressing
1 8-ounce chicken breast, grilled and cubed
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
All you have to do:
1. Add to a small sauce pan at medium heat the cream cheese and hot sauce.
2. Stir gently until smooth.
3. Add cheddar cheese and stir until smooth.
4. Stir in the ranch and chicken.
Serve with tortilla chips and celery.
See? Super easy.
A new favorite of his
{and, okay, mine too despite the fact that I usually don't eat fried foods}
This is pretty easy to make as well
but let me preface this picture by saying that this is
Not very pretty at all.
All you need:
1 large yellow onion, cut into thin slices
6 jalapenos, sliced
10-ounces beer {I used Bud Lite Lime}
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup corn meal
cooking oil
All you have to do:
1. Combine egg, beer, flour and corn meal.
2. Fully coat jalapeno and onion slices in batter mixture.
3. Fry until golden brown. {Not ugly dark brown, like mine. }
FYI, I tried to bake these at first to save on calories.
Epic. Fail.

So what do you cook on game days??

I'm going to have to try that buffalo chicken dip. I've seen it at potlucks a few time but never tried it.
ReplyDeleteWe usually do chili, the Velveeta & hamburger dip, or a variety of snacks like meat cheese & crackers.
Nice job with the FF team :o) Hope this Sunday is good for you!
That all looks delicious!! I love buffalo chicken dip...it is our favorite thing to eat on game days and at parties!
ReplyDeleteI love tailgating and game day food. I haven't really had a football game party yet this year though. I love anything with a spice kick the best.
