The worship leader of the church we've been attending here in Sacramento said that on Sunday morning and it really resonated with me. In fact, after he said it, I repeated it again in my mind to let it sink it and then breathed a giant sigh of relief.
I needed that reminder.
Lately, I find myself constantly chastising myself. Over. Every. Single. Shortcoming. I'm not sure where or when I developed this behavior. What I do know is that this isn't the way God intended me to go through my days.
Lamentations 3:22-23
Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
His mercies are new every morning because I need them every morning!
I'm not saying that we should use this as a justification for our sins. What I am saying is that we need to accept His forgiveness, embrace His mercy, be thankful for His grace and move forward. Stop holding yourself back.
This morning as I was about to begin the day I began reciting Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ you gives me strength."
Say that for yourself. Take ownership of that verse. It is for you. YOU can do all things through Christ who gives YOU strength.
John 15:5
