.truth.

I went to a weekly inter-college worship service called
Refuge
my junior and senior years of college.
Those were hard years.
God was stretching and growing me.
One of the ways He did that was to
prune some things and people from my life.
I thought my life was going in one direction
but He had more and better for me.
That season of my life was a painful
yet sweet and fruitful one.
My love for Him grew
because my understanding of His love for me grew.

That weekly service meant a lot to me.
It honestly was a refuge for me.
I heard words there that brought me so much comfort and hope.
I was comfortable to worship God freely,
even if all I could do was cry out to him -
which was frequently the case.

We had a few incredibly talented worship leaders that rotated.
One of them was Ronnie Freeman.
Last week, Pandora randomly played his song The Only Thing.
It is a great song that is definitely worth sharing.
{In fact, all of his music is great.}
There is a so much truth in it
and a reminder to not get wrapped up in ourselves and our "goodness."
For me it invokes memories of
such a special time in my relationship with the Lord.

Listen to it.
Be encouraged.
