He freely gives.

While other bloggers are ending their 31 Days series
I’m just now in the thick of mine.
I knew myself well enough to know that I wouldn’t post every day for a month,
Especially in the midst of a difficult season.
Rest assured that all of the posts I’ve shared this far come directly from
what God is teaching and showing me.

Today’s post doesn’t really have a topic.
It’s more of a collection of things that have encouraged me lately.
I hope they will encourage you too.

Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
Habakkuk 3:17 – 18, New Living Translation

A friend introduced me to Jason Upton over the weekend.
Wow.
There is so much freedom in this style of worship.
Each time I listen to a new song I think,
“Oh okay, THIS is my favorite.”
I really like this song:

But I also like this one and this one and this one.

A jewel from this video

How you respond to the crisis can be - and will be - a defining moment for you…God will allow suffering, unexpected crisis in order to detach our hope from other things and to attach it to himself. Honestly, I don't know why you're going through what you're going through...What I do know is that what God desires more than anything else is that you would find your hope in Him, in the midst of the crisis in the midst of the hopeless situation you would find your hope in Him even though there's no circumstantial evidence to have hope. It’s in the while we're waiting that God begins to transform our hearts. –Pete Wilson

It’s your job to pray. It’s God's job to answer. Leave it in His hands. -Stormie Omartian

To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul;
in you I trust, O my God.
Do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.
No one whose hope is in you
will ever be put to shame,
but they will be put to shame
who are treacherous without excuse.
Show me your ways, O LORD,
teach me your paths;
guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth
and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
for you are good, O LORD.
Good and upright is the LORD;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way.
All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful
for those who keep the demands of his covenant.
For the sake of your name, O LORD,
forgive my iniquity, though it is great.
Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD?
He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.
He will spend his days in prosperity,
and his descendants will inherit the land.
The LORD confides in those who fear him;
he makes his covenant known to them.
My eyes are ever on the LORD,
for only he will release my feet from the snare.
Turn to me and be gracious to me,
for I am lonely and afflicted.
The troubles of my heart have multiplied;
free me from my anguish.
Look upon my affliction and my distress
and take away all my sins.
See how my enemies have increased
and how fiercely they hate me!
Guard my life and rescue me;
let me not be put to shame,
for I take refuge in you.
May integrity and uprightness protect me,
because my hope is in you.
Redeem Israel, O God,
from all their troubles!
