Stop trying to "help" God by worrying.
Stop being anxious about what life will look like at the end of this season.
Stop saying with your lips that you trust Him
but saying something completely different with your thought life and your countenance.
He doesn't need you to bear this burden.
He has far more for you than what you've asked.
Tired of telling you, you have me
When I know you really don't
Tired of telling you I'll follow
When I know I reallly won't
Cause I'd rather stand here speechless
With no great words to say
If my silence is more truthful
And my ears can hear how to walk in your way
In the silence
You are speaking
In the quiet I can feel the fire
And it's burning, burning deeply
Burning all that it is that you desire to be silent, in me
Oh Jesus can you hear me?
My soul is screaming out
And my broken will cries teach me
What your Kingdom's all about
Unite my heart to fear you,
To fear your holy name
And create a life of worship
In the spirit and truth of your loving ways
-In the Silence, Jason Upton-
If we get wrapped up in anxiety about what is lacking in our life—even the very legitimate hurts and problems—and forget to be self-controlled and alert, we are prime targets for Satan to usher us right away from God. We start doubting God, doubting His ability to provide, and justifying our way right into sinful patterns. -Lysa TerKeurst via Proverbs 31 Ministries
Oh, by the way, this post was for me.
If you needed to hear it too then that's just a cherry cherri (per my friend Cherri) on top.
