I'm an ordinary girl.

Even though I've never been much of a dog person,
I love my chihuahua like she is a real child.
I'm not sure if I can ever love another dog the way I love her.

My sister is my best friend.
 I'm close to my family...even though we aren't near each other.

One month to-the-day before my wedding
my dad died suddenly and unexpectedly.
To date, it has been the hardest thing I have gone through.
I miss him and I love him
and that motivates me to talk about and
 support the effort to deal with mental illness.

I live in Sacramento now but
I was Nashville born and bred.
{I've also spent time in both Orlando, FL and Lynchburg, VA}
"You can take a girl out of the South
but you can't take the South of the girl."
{Super cliche...I know.}
I will never stop saying fixin'
and I probably won't ever call the interstate a freeway.

Even though I have a degree in Public Relations
{from this cute little school}
I never saw myself working at a PR firm...
yet, here I am. And I love it.

I love people.
And I love a good story.
Seriously, tell me your story.
I want to hear it.

Things I Like:
making people feel welcome and loved
good conversation
flavorful food
happy hour with friends
meeting new people
helping others
laughing
Velvet Dessert tea from this place
working out
funny movies

Things I Like
{but don't do nearly enough}:
going to Haiti
seeing Broadway musicals
travelling to exotic locations
going to Disney World
making stuff (Martha Stewart glitter makes me really happy)
sending cards "just because"

Things I Like
{that I probably indulge in too much}:
shopping (clothes, groceries, home decor)
singing Broadway show tunes
crime  & punishment tv shows
red velvet cupcakes
Sonic Happy Hour

When I was a kid I had an imaginary TV network.
All Katie All the Time.
School segements.
Specials for recitals and plays.
Call-in shows in the evening.
Not gonna lie, sometimes I still kind of want to pretend...

And the most important thing about me:
Jesus changed my life through grace.
Amazing,
unending,
monumental
Grace.
{Though I am still and will most likely always be, a work in progress.}
And He wants to extend that grace to you too.
No matter what.
